In this 1.5 hour class, we’ll explore how we can apply Feldenkrais Method Awareness Through Movement® to the act of walking. Walking is an intensely personal thing. It’s not something we do instinctively, it’s something we each have to learn, and we all learn it differently. Our friends recognise us by our walk before they see our faces. Not only that but as we approach closer they way we walk gives clues about how we are feeling. Put simply, if we walk easier then we walk taller and feel better.
When we are born into this world we first encounter it physically. The way we learn to move through it sets the ground for all the other skills that we learn in life. BodySchool is an ongoing workshop series which applies somatic and postmodern dance practices to bring awareness to how we move through everyday life situations in a way that is accessible and relevant to anyone.
