Beginner’s Mind – CI skills workshop
with Malcolm Manning and Panu Erästö
Panu and Malcolm are busy discussing what they each consider to be the essential skills of contact improvisation. There’s some agreement but they also surprise each other. In this workshop they will attempt to map out some of these fundamentals by teaching them.
The invitation to all is to engage with our beginners’ minds. This workshop offers an opportunity for those taking their first steps into the contact scene to learn what these two experienced CI dancers and teachers regard as the essential base skills of their practice.
For the more experienced, there’s the possibility to refresh known skills by approaching them through the prism of these two teachers’ particular interests and specialities. And for those who also teach CI, they hope to give some insights and inspiration for that most demanding of teaching challenges… teaching beginners.
